Thank you to all the people who have visited this blog in 2012 and extra special thanks to those who have left comments. 

Thank you to all the children in Room 2 in 2012 for their enthusiasm for learning and having fun. It has been an awesome year.

This blog will be renamed Room 2 2013 but will still have the same address. Please visit often to share in our learning journey.

Harry's Kitten's

This morning Jen came in with their 5 kittens that Harry has been telling us about. We all got to have a hold of one. Thanks Jen.

We had our class party today. We had so much yummy food. We even had enough to have some after we had a fun swim with Room 4. Thank you to all the Mum's and Dad's for the food.

Mix and Make

We have been busy yesterday afternoon and this morning making all sorts of things. We all put them in the hall for a display then we had to go and collect them and get them sorted so we could carry them home. That was a mission! These pictures only show some of the things. There was also kites, woodwork, flax flowers and tie dying. It was great fun.

Blenheim Show

On Thursday I went to the Blenheim show. First when we got there Georgia, Mum, and Marg got out but I didn't get out. Then Mum, Marg  and I put up the tent. Then Georgia and I had to go to bed. Georgia and I threw sappy  the dog . While we were playing Mum came in. Then we quickly  went to sleep. 

The next sunny morning I woke up at 9 am then I finally got into my riding  clothes.
I got two firsts, one second and  one champion. 

Finally we  did the fancy dress. We were clowns. I came first. The next morning we packed up and we went home.

Amy and Mary Visit Room 2

As well as the big fish this morning we had a visit from Jimmy's sisters Amy and Mary.Amy loved sitting in the circle at news time. She liked putting the pegs in pegboards. Mary sat in the pushchair and washed very one. Then she went to sleep.Then Amy and mary had to go home with their Mum.

Fantastic Fish

This morning Jimmy brought a great big snapper to school. Mister Baldwin gutted the snapper. Mr Hikuroa filleted it. Jo Jimmy's mum cut it up into pieces. Mrs Lines and some kids floured, egged and crumbed it. Mrs Lines cooked it in some butter. Then we ate it. It was scrumptious and delicious, the best fish ever. Thanks Cris for catching it for us. Thanks Jo for bringing it to school.

Buddy Class Visit

Room 5 came down to share their learning and writing about the importance of our hearts.

Toby Goes Karting

In the holidays when I went go karting my kart was number eleven. I had to wait a long time. On the first time I did one lap then I did a second lap. But on my third lap I stopped at the first straight bit.
You can do more than one lap. You can do like ten or eleven.

On my second time I did ten or eleven laps. I raced number 33. Number 33 kept on over taking me because I did not put my foot on the accelerator enough. He did.

Fishing Fun

In the holidays Dad, Johny and I went down Port Underwood scalloping and cray fishing. First when we got there we had to fix the dredge. Second we had to unpack our clothes. Then we went to check our pots. We first checked my pot. Mine had thirty nine. Our dad went crazy when we lifted the pot up. Dad's got two but they were too small so we had to throw them away and put the pot back in. Johny's pot had four, three were big, one was small. Finally we did dad's pot again at night. This time he got nine crayfish. When we checked all the pots we steamed in to port. When we packed up we had to drop the anchor and get some shut eye. The next morning we went scalloping. We got thirty three cases. When we finished that we went Kahwai fishing. I pulled four fish in. Johny pulled the lure 4 times. We got 8 kahwai. It was getting late so we headed off back to the shore. When we got back to the wharf we dropped our long line. Then we went to bed. The next morning we got up so early. When Johny and I went to check our long line it had a red cod. When we finished that we went to check our pots. But we did not check Amy's pot because we put it on our boat. When we did all the pots we went back in because it was too rough and we all went home. When we got home we told mum all about what we did. And after that our whole family went to bed. I had two amazing days.
